We are proud to be the new owners of the Sugarloaf Mountain Motel and Market. Our motto is:
"Come as a stranger leave as a friend"
Cleanliness and taking excellent care of our guests is our hallmark. If you have special needs or requests, just let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Part of our motel was originally built in the 1800's as a boarding house for miners. Guests can choose to stay in rooms that have original brick walls and cast iron shutters. At one time, according to local legend, the motel may have been used as a jail for some of the more lawless inhabitants of the south end of town, then known as the "Barbary Coast".
For our more adventuresome guests, we have a few rooms rumored to be haunted by ghosts of a bygone era. See our "RESERVATIONS" page for a complete listing of our rooms and their availability.
Please visit the rest of our site for more information on our motel and Virginia City. On our "ABOUT TOWN" page, be sure to click on the "What's Happening in Virginia City" link. It is full of interesting facts, history, and Virginia City's upcoming events. Don't miss the live web cam showing historic C Street.
For our guests' comfort and enjoyment, we are planning some exciting changes to the Motel and Market in the very near future. Please visit our "ABOUT US" page to read more about us and our plans.
We look forward to having you as our guests and treasuring you as our friends.
